Making ends meet

August 20, 2009 in General by Lyons Bael

Finding a form of profit in EVE that satisfies you can be easy for some people and nearly impossible for others. I am one of the unfortunate players who just can’t find a fine form of profit. I’ve decided to do whatever I want to do at the time that I’m thinking of doing something for ISK. This makes for a wide range of skills in the queue. Trading, PvP, manufacturing, and others have become familiar to me though I’m not sure which one I like the best.

I have to ask, why me?

July 28, 2009 in EVE Universe by Lyons Bael

Recently, I got into the trade business and I was flying to Jita from Dodixie for some goods. I sometimes go afk for this 15 jump flight. Never again. I had saved up a bunch of ISK to purchase my Gallente Navy Comet. (Little did I know that the thing was worthless) I go and sit back down at my comp and I find myself inside of a station…everything seems normal I guess. When I saw my wallet and mail tabs blinking though, I knew what had happened. A pirate had decided to use his Armageddon to destroy my ship and then procede to podding me. So I have to ask, why me? I was only afk for a bit. Frusteratin’ I tell ya.

Interceptor blog, this is the best title that I can think of…

July 1, 2009 in EVE Universe by Lyons Bael

I have decided that today, I want an Ares. An ares is a Gallente interceptor. (interceptors are like millenium falcon in hyperspace fast) I could see the universe in an interceptor, see the sites, make the pilgrimeage to the EVE gate, and make many miners mad as I ram them. (he he he) I’m 15 days away and 20 million short of getting one but it is a priority for me. Also, I was flying around in my vexor with some friends when an interceptor came in and tackled me. His fleet followed shortly. Interceptors seem like such fun and useful ships to have.

Hey champ, you can take this guy.

Many people shun the idea of fighting larger and more expensive ships than what you are flying.  In reality, it happens a lot. Recently, I was in the Perimeter area looking for a fight with one of the locals in my vexor (cruiser). Eventually, after no takers, someone flew over to me in their Myrmidon (battlecruiser) I wasn’t planning on fighting this guy until I got so bored that I was willing to take on almost anyone who was similar to me in SP (Not recommended) So I lay down a can for this guy so that we can begin our skirmish. We engage, I immediately sick my drones on him with my blasters as well. His shields are down near instantly (Gallente armor tank after all.) and I move on to his armor. I drain his cap, web him, and warp disrupt him. He decides to stop shooting to use his armor repair. His cap soon runs out so that he is left pretty much defenseless. I get 3/4 of his armor down and he somehow docks. (Sour end to the story, I’m sorry) (you have to love the parenthesis) So the point of my story is so that people realize that even though their opponent may have a bigger ship, you can still beat them. Now take out your atron and go fight a dominix.*

DRONES: Gallente’s last, best hope

June 28, 2009 in PvP by Lyons Bael

Now before all of you die hard Gallente fans start leaving me hate blogs, realize that Gallente is my favorite race. (Though my corp is mostly Caldari) Drones have become a part of everyday life in EVE, many people survive off of drones in combat and out of combat. Drones are in my opinion, the staple of survival for many ships and many pilots. They give you the impression that you have a small army backing you up on the battlefield, which is precisely what these little soldiers do. Gallente are good for drones and good looking ships. (They DO NOT look like green brocolli poop)

“I got soul but I’m not a Soldier”-The Killers

PvP, where to start. I recently got into the whole pew pew “Now you die” swing of things when I fitted my vexor for PvP. Like a dog who has tasted meat, I have tasted PvP and I like it. I like it a lot in fact, but that doesn’t mean that I am very good at it though. In fact, I am on my fourth vexor in about a month. (my poor savings that were to be used for my children’s college enrollment in the Gallente navy college) I will say though that with every loss, I become more confident and more “blood thirsty” as my friends call me. (lol) I have defeated an interceptor, a brutix, a blackbird, a caracal, a kestrel, and a poorly fitted drake. Talking tough is one of my other new hobbies that I have picked up off of the streets. If only I could back up my big mouth. If anyone here is ever in the Perimeter area, feel free to look me up for a skirmish (sigh…I can’t stop myself)

EVE at a glance

June 28, 2009 in EVE Universe by Lyons Bael

EVE is like a game like no other (besides other space ship games and MMO’s in general) with many possibilities and opportunities. What makes EVE great is the fact that it is run by the regular people. We, the people.. control the game. We make peoples’ days or we make them cry at their computers. Whatever you want to do, you can do it in EVE. That is what I like about the universe of Eden. As I have mentioned prior to this blog, I am the PR director of a corporation so I get the priveledge of meeting many different people on a day to day basis. To me, meeting people and making friends is what is important to me. (friends with benefits if you know what I mean) ; ) My point to all of this is that people are what make this game great, although the pew pew and such helps a lot too ; )

Hello!

June 2, 2009 in General by Lyons Bael

Hello everyone! I am Lyons Bael. I am a proud director in The Galactic Republic corporation. I am the diplomat and the recruiter of the corp. I would still consider myself to be pretty nooby although I am learning at a great pace.  I live in Caldari space mostly and I prefer flying the blackbird over most of the other ships. ( If I had the ISK, I would be willing to try out new ships :) . ) This is my first blog site so I am learning still! Now you know a bit about Ol’ Bael.
