Q’apla!

Got on a small roaming frigate gang last night, seven of us including E-war and two stealth bombers (myself in the ever awesome Hound, and one of thoseĀ  pig ugly Manticores). With our scout out we found an apocalypse sat at a station all shiny and golden.

For some daft reason he had his drones out, so our scout shot one and lo and behold, they were on aggressive.

With much whooping and “Avast!” the rest of the team jumps in, we warp to our scout (with myself jumping to 20, don’t want to push my luck) and open fire.
Turns out he was sniper fit so had bugger all tank, he died very quickly, and his pod followed in quick succession.

Two things we should learn from this.

1) Never sit at a station with aggressive drones, it gives you an aggression timer and stops you docking.

2) If you get blown up by a 7 man frigate gang because you had drones out and shot a scout, don’t start raging in local about hot drops. It makes you sound dumb.

I personally racked up 40% of the damage on this guy, but being an Amarrian he was obviously very weak to my primary damage type. I am however not sure why we got his pod so easily. I always thought that pods could dock regardless of aggression timer, so either i was wrong or this guy just missed his dock button.

Still, a nice shiny expensive tech II amarrian battleship fit for no losses, go team frigate!

The rest of the roam was a bit disappointing as word got around we were on the move. Everywhere we went people were docked up or hiding.

We had a shot at a vagabond who looked like he’d try to make a fight out of it but once our E-war had him jammed he ran away (we couldn’t drop in close enough to get a web/scram on him). In the end we turned for home, and docked up satisfied, with a pile of tech II laser stuff to pass around the lads.

P.S. Bombers are still a lot of fun.

Finally back into the fighting.

Well i’m back out in 0.0 space where i belong, surrounded by people who want to kill me and steal my ships shiny modules, and that’s just my own corp mates!

Since arriving out in Stain, i’ve spent a lot of time running missions, which is something i didn’t even do when i was in empire. I never realised just how silly the money could get if you are willing to put in the effort to salvage.

Of course having a friend to do the DPS in a nightmare doesn’t hurt. Seriously, that is one brutal bucket of bolts…

My problem now is that i don’t know what to work towards. Do i want to get a Machariel for it’s projectile bonuses and all round minmatar goodness, or do i skill up for a nightmare, for it’s mad looks.

I’m guessing i’ll stick with the mach, seeing as i’ve got most of the weapon skills already trained, but the nightmare is so… Spiky!

Spiky dilemma’s aside, i’m having fun out here with some interesting engagements of the non-blob variety, but the new guys i’m flying with are US timebased, resulting in me joining understrength ad hoc roams. Good fun, but a bit nerve wracking. Hopefully we’ll get better EU coverage soon, and we’ll be able to fight the russians properly.

P.S. Stealth Bombers are way too much fun.
