So you have your blog, and you have been keeping it up to date. All that hard work shouldnt go unrecognised, should it? This update will give you 5 tips on how to get more traffic to your site.
1) Use Pluggit.org
Pluggit.org is a social bookmarking site especially for eve-online that allows you to submit any eve related internet link. New links land in the upcoming section, and once they reach five votes they are moved onto the front page. You will need to sign up for an account in order to submit links, but anyone can vote.
2) Post links to your blogs on forums
Share your blog with alliance or corp mates on your internal forums. Post links to the My Eve or Eve Fiction sections of the eve-online website. If your feeling really brave you could even post it to the scrapheap-challenge forums. You will probably take a bit of flack from some of them, but others will read and enjoy your work.*
3) Submit your blog to google
Google will probably pick up your URL eventually, but why not give it a head start? You can submit your site here
4) Use social networking
Use Facebook, Myspace & Twitter to your advantage… That is if you dont mind your non-eve friends knowing how much of a geek you are.
5) Exchange Links
Exchange links with other eve bloggers. offer to add them to your blogroll if they will do the same for you.
6) Comment on other peoples blogs
Most blogs have a website field for you to get traffic to your own website/blog when you make a comment. Take full advantage of this when you post comments on other peoples blog posts.
7) Get yourself on CrazyKinux’s Blogroll
CrazyKinux has an exstensive blogroll, if your listed there other bloggers and blog readers will find you. Its also a good place to look for inspiration and a good place to swap links.
8) Submit yourself to Ga’lens OPML
Ga’len has an OPML download that lists posts from pretty much every eve blog on the internet, get on this list and get some new readers!
* When I say “probably take a bit of flack”, what I actually mean is your likely to get called things you havent even heard of. But its all good fun :)
