I am quite frankly at a loss of words here. How stupid can one get and still be able to breathe? This was the single most epic stupid thing I have ever seen in the history of EVE. What. An. Idiot.

Okay so the title is a bit misleading. I’m not leaving EVE…permanently. At least I don’t hope so. However, I will be out of it for at least this summer and perhaps a bit into fall. I have too much other things going on in real life, several other fun games I play both for myself and with friends (not MMOs) and quite frankly I’ve hit one of these famous dips. 

I’m simply not having fun in EVE at the moment, so instead of wasting time logging in, getting frustrated and log out, I’m simply going to let my sub expire. I might be back, I might not. We’ll see.

For those of you following my YouTube page, I’m happy to announce that both of the current Let’s Play series will continue. Hopefully a bit more regurlarly too.

I joined Faction Warfare because I thought it would have some interesting PvP in it. Boy, was I wrong. It’s either completely 100% docked up at all times, or they go completely overboard. I’ve been up against 20 man gangs, alone. Been up against a CARRIER alone, been up against more blobs. I’ve been trying and trying to get these guys to fight an interesting fight (say 5-10 to 1) but they insist on bringing ECM to a 20 vs 1, undocking a carrier to take out a single BC, or just simply swarm you with 3000 frigates.

I’m not complaining about the fact that they do, it’s well within game mechanics and if they have the gangs, why not? But, something that has been nagging me more and more lately is this: Where in EVE have the solo PvP gone? I’ve tried for the last six months to get decent solo fights but I inevitably end up getting massively blobbed. I’m quite close to just throwing my hands in the air and saying “fuck this, I’m outta here”, because I’m quite frankly not having fun in EVE anymore. Giev back my solo PvP plox?

I’m in a reflective mood today, so I thought I’d talk about how I view CEOship and how I’ve been CEO not once, twice or hell, even three times, but four distinct times in my Eve Online career.

While at first, Eva seemed to a be really good choice for CSM (some of the first CSM elections), she’s grown more insane, bitter and openly hostile over the years. The first time around she had good arguments, stood up for her “voters” and represented the carebear, high sec style of EVE really good. This time around, however, she’s turned into a raving lunatic and I was dismayed to hear she was elected and as you can see, delighted to hear she was removed. If it wasn’t nearly midnight here, I’d link you to several of her outbursts, but I’ll leave you to browse the forums yourself. Or why not have a look at EVE Tribune. Helicity Boson apparently have even more information (and info that originally got me to despise the woman, not just dislike her), as does Jimer Lins here, and here.
