Everybody Wants To Rule The World

Everybody!

Back in the game!

After a long time of not playing, I am now trying to get back into the game. My Harbinger is ready and new adventures awaits.

Michael Bay ftw?

Armageddon. No, not talking about the, not good, but “passable” film by Michael Bay. I’m talking about the beautiful Amarr ship that I have now decided to train for after I’m done with Energy Management V and then overheating. The reason I decided to train for it (aside from astethic values of course, even though some compare it with a….let’s not get into that) is because of all the great things I’ve heard about it. I’m not really a fan of battleships usually because lack of mobility and need for support. Though I don’t doubt the ‘Geddon needs support sometimes, many say that it can be very powerful on its own.

Short to say, I’ve jumped on the “Train Amarr”-bandwagon.

But training for Amarr also opens up a lot of ship I’ve always wanted to try. The Zealot, Sacrilege, Apocalypse, CURSE (sexiest ship in-game fyi), Pilgrim (maybe), Harbinger and Retribution. Now I am a man of diversity, I can’t resist to crosstrain so if I train Amarr ships, I can fly all races (not all ships).

Fly safe.

Until then?

Haven’t been playing much EVE the last couple of days. I’ve switched corp though, from Malevolent Intentions to Destry’s Lounge. Many people from North America in the new corp, so they’ve good odd times that they consider “prime time”. But it’s fine, I find it more fun to fly with them (no offence MALIN buddies.)

I roamed with them this morning, killed a Caracal worth 65 mill. Linky. Some people really fit odds things.

In other news, I’ve opened up a new blog. That one is an roleplaying blog, being a fictional news feed from New Eden. Check it out.

Until some day when I’ve got something interesting to write about. Bye Bye, everybody!

Blått Regn

Posted by grekforto on June 7, 2009

Ok, most of the readers will not understand the title. It’s because it’s in swedish. Translated, it says “Blue Rain” which is the title of a Donald Duck pocket book I bought when I was about 8 years old, the story is about Donald and Fethry Duck joining an organization that fights alien threats, and one of those threat are called “Blue Rain”, or Blob.

Now you see where this is going. The “Blue Rain” falls down upon the earth and each time it gets to an object, it absorbs it and gets bigger, and bigger, and BIGGER! After a while it is bigger then a hospital, and no one thinks they can defeat it. Of course Donald and Fethry kills it but I am trying to draw a parallel to the blobs we see in EVE.

When a blob is big enough, there is nothing more to a battle then primary calling since no skill is involved when you got enough raw dps to put on a single ship. Sure, we have E-War. But it only limits the enemy number by a small amount, and the more subsribers EVE gets, the bigger the blobs are gonna get. Especially when we’re talking about Factional Warfare which apparently is one of the selling points (“get in to fun PVP instantly with the EVE Boxed version” yay -.-).

I can see how blobbing is efficient, since the only mindset you need is, “Let’s see how many people they have and get the double amount”. But how fun is this really? Not fun for me at least and that is why I stay out of 0.0 (yes, there are blobs in Low-Sec too, I know). I write this post not as a “whine” or a cry that EVE is dying. Just as an observation of what I think kills the game. But if you’re in such a situation yourself, and like it, fine.

You Must Be This Tall…

Fanfest 09′ this fall, and I can’t go. I am very sad face because of the fact that I am not old enough, but  in 2 years I’m gonna sit on a plane to Iceland, hopefully. Only great thing about not being 18+ is that you haven’t finished school. Now you may think that’s a bad thing, but it also means weeks off in the summer.

So say we all.

Yes, what do you see? Troll! Right ahead!

This melting pot of different cultures. Women and Men struggling on the plains of this entity, trying to get someones attention or maybe just ask for advice. But bashing at them are thousands of trolls, one more violent then the other.

I am, of course talking about the EVE Online forums. I’ve heard they are not as bad as other game forums, and I confess I have found countless amounts of tips and tricks from the constructive posters. But like a blue ocean on a summer day, there are ugly people. These trolls infest the forums and like to add nonsensical posts and general badmouthing, often with alternate characters. I posted a PVP video yesterday (two days ago?) and while it wasn’t a masterpiece, showing a battle that is (like one poster said) a Battleship-slugfest, the evil trolls started to nitpick about my playing style.

Apparently one MUST have all inactive modules not visible, the overview must be clear of friendlies and also my choice of music is bad.

Battleship-slugfest (I like the sound of that)

“Any pvp’er should know that.” Oh rly, mr Troll. And you know I’m a dedicated PVP’er? Maybe you checked my corp killboard (stop creeping me out) and ran all the background checks you could. Maybe I am just a miner trying to enjoy some PVP fun with my friends. Okay, I am a PVP’er. But it’s not like this is a universal law, so please. Shut the fuck up…

That’s all for this time. Apparently I am a failure in PVP, but I actually did adjust my overview today :)

I also know it is a lost cause trying to tell trolls to stop being mean. lololololololololololol

Talk to the hand.

Yarr!

Yes,  I’m a pirate (in-game).  I am proud to be flying with one of the best pirate corps out there, Malevolent Intentions. While we might not be as notorious as Veto or Genos, I think we were able to hold our own if we ever faced them.

I love the life I’m living (lol, nerd thinking EVE is real) in  Low-Sec. High-Sec is way to crowded for my taste and 0.0 is only blob warfare in my opinion, I might be wrong but it’s my experience. The only downside with Low-Sec might be the supply of ships and mods, fortunatly I don’t lose my ships and besides, we got a guy hauling from High-Sec (bless him). At the moment, all I am doing is not playing EVE. Can’t be bothered to play when my gaming computer is out of business since the GPU fan broke down. Hopefully it’ll be up and running next week.

That is all for now.
