Being Minmatar and living in Providence is easy. Just as long you do not have very high standings with the Minmatar faction; which means you have a very low standing with the Amarr. These means if you want to head into High Sec you will be chased by the Amarr Navy.
Lucky for me I was not very much into running missions. I entered the game of EVE with the relaxed carebear play style of a miner with the intend to explore the sandbox. I had escaped the grind of F2P fantasy games to live and breath in EVE.
Providence is known for it’s roleplaying. The Amarr enslaved the Minmatar once and now are warring factions. The roleplaying has never stopped me from doing anything in Providence because I am Minmatar.
When it comes down to it even the roleplayers know it is just a game and when it comes to ships and they are needed for large battles they really do not weight in the race over the need for another pilot.
Yes, you will read stuff like “Kill the Minmatar” in bios or read the same in local roleplay. But it is not going to keep you from living in Providence as a Minmatar.
You can call me a pet that is fine. Just do not call me a slaver!
That is as close as I get to roleplaying in EVE.
Those that have never ventured into null sec (0.0) space. There are two kinds of null sec NAPs. You have the #1 common option that alliances use for their controlled space which is NBSI (Not blue shot it) and the other one is NRDS (Not red don’t shoot)
CVA space is NRDS and most that come to CVA space are looking to get in some end game action without the troubles having to try and get set blue to play/operate in those regions that run under the NBSI style of NAP/security.
Now NBSI style regions are easier for pilots to live in since it pretty straight forward. But in NRDS you have blues and neturals you do not shot. Reds are the only targets in this type of security/NAP that you have free rein to shoot upon.
Alliances have to keep track of the corps. and alliance that CVA have set RED/KOS (Kill on Sight). If they are KOS then they are open game for you to fire away on them. It is a great system but, with it comes some managment to maintain this type of system. CVA have sites that can be used ingame to check if pilots are KOS and who is not.
But for the most case if you following their KOS system and keep your alliance/corp settings up-to-date then their should be anything to worry about.
With this kind of system in place accidents happen and will always happen. Neutrals are not always netural and can be hostile. This is the grey line that can make an NRDS system a bit more to manage then the NBSI.
So if you find yourself in providenace and are not aware of the CVA rules, I would suggest you read all the CVA policy before ventureing into CVA space.
NRDS is a system that allows for anyone to come into CVA space for ratting, some pew pew and trade. I tip my hat to CVA for making this kind of null sec possible.
That is a breif look into providence space.
