War is here…kinda

So, after a while of all us Ninjas begging our ‘customers’ to make good on their idle threats of war decs, someone finally ponied up the 50mil ISK per week and did it.  The Deadspace Society, the Alliance of some of the people we relieved of ships on our last Field Trip (in my last post…the hurricane people) decided that they would seek justice and slay us offenders!

You can check out the results of the war so far at the TEARS Killboard.  Nothing dramatic…some losses, some kills…technically we are ahead in isk killed at the moment…but it’s not about that for us anyway…the tears are what we are after.  And we’ve had a bit so far.  Killed at least one of their miners (mining during a war dec? lol), but most of their people seem to stay docked up…mostly newer players it seems.

I can’t really say much about it because I haven’t helped in any of the fights yet, I’ve just been chilling in Dodixie continuing business as normal since they apparently don’t want to bring the fight to our home system.  I’ll try and head out to help with some fighting in the next few days.

All in all they seem like a failbear alliance with a few pvp people in it…from what it seems like to me, the war isn’t really that popular with their mostly carebear members…we shall see how long it lasts!

Of Field Trips, Kills, and Tears.

So, it’s been a week since my last post…and quite a bit has happened.  I’ve helped in a few kills, had a great time in one of our weekly salvaging ops, made a decent amount of ISK from you ever helpful mission runners, and got some decent tears to fuel my ship for a while longer.  So sit down, grab some popcorn and a coke (please…no pepsi), and have a read.

Suddenly Ninjas has two official weekly salvage ops in which we go around and salvage peoples missions in mass…collecting loots, salvage, tears, and most of the time a few killmails.  One of which is local to Dodixie, and the second we choose a system each week that fits a certain set of criteria (top sekret! no askin!) This week I wasn’t able to make our Dodixie Operation so I tagged along on our Field Trip.  It was no different than normal as we went back and revisited Emologranlan since it had been such an excellent provider of fun the last time we went there for our weekly Field Trip.

I stayed around with the other Ninjas harvesting tears, loots, salvage, and a few killmails for over 8 hours.  In the end we made over 12mil ISK each which is actually a bit lower than normal…but for good reason.  We had over 20 Ninjas involved in the Fleet at one time…and while that may not sound like a lot.  Trying to find enough missions to keep 20 Ninjas moving for 8 hours straight is a pain in the ass…and ends up with quite a few of us sitting around twiddling our thumbs and starting random topics on voice chat.  But…the tears we get from some of these mission runners are superb.  (This last trip actually got us a War Dec…but that’s for my next post…)

Word of advice to all you mission runners out there…when a Ninja loots your stuff…they really do want you to shoot at them.  Whether it’s for them to go grab their pvp fit Battleship to blow you away, or to simply get a fast frigate to warp scramble you and keep you in one place for an hour or so because you are being an Ass…one way or another…it’s bad for you to shoot at us.  Just as this guy, this one, or maybe even him.  Those last few were especially fun because they were butt hurt that we brought no less than 6 remote reppers to help our little guys stay alive while we killed them (I was one of the little guys in my Stabber for one, and a remote repper in a Hurricane for another).  We even had 2 rifters and a thrasher suicide themselves trying to kill us…not to mention the hurricane that did in on accident thinking they had aggro just because their friends did…they all failed I might add!

Moral of that story?  We are Ninjas…we are not PvPers…getting smacked for using overwhelming force and a fleet of remote repair ships makes us happy…so keep it coming! (of course…hopefully none of you people reading this blog are stupid enough to shoot at a ninja…but if you are, thanks for the loots!)

All in all we collected over 17km^3 of loot for that one operation…and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Now, for those of you who like a bit of tears…I collected these yesterday morning…where I made over 63mil isk in a 2 hour period…it was such a glorious morning.

Wollx > do it
Wollx > I hate f**kkers like u
Cyberin > to each their own
Cyberin > just trying to make a living here, it’s hard for a lowly janitor like myself
Wollx > take a mis your self
Cyberin > i just did :D
Cyberin > took yours
Wollx > haha .. very funny . u cant even take a miss by your self because of your lousy skills :L
Cyberin > no need to when other people do them for me

This guy was my favorite…just because his spelling was horrendous…and because he opened a private convo with me rather than just raging in local like most people do.

I have much more tears than that…but looking at my chatlogs folder I’ve determined that I need to start taking notes on when I get my tears…because I don’t feel like looking through a week of logs to find the good stuff.  So expect more, better tears next time after I’ve worked out a way to keep track.

And up next in my next post…WAR!

Monthly Character Review

I plan on keeping a Monthly Character Review section here at Hands Off, My Loots! for all you people that don’t give a rats ass about my skills.  I’m mainly doing it for me to keep track of my development…but maybe some people will find it interesting as well…I know at least all my enemies in the future will appreciate it (it’s a good thing I don’t care hmm?).

The posts will involve skillshots of Cyberin, and another alt (to remain nameless), as well as networth…and other stuff I may feel like adding.

———-

So without further ado, here’s a shot of Cyberin’s current skill graph.

cyberaug

One thing I need to work on is learning skills.  I started them off, then got caught up in training for a Covert Ops and some other things.  Once I get the Covert Ops trained (13 days give or take) I plan to take 2-3 weeks training the learning skills up to a decent level.  Once the learning skills are done, I need to work on scanning, salvaging, ecm, and Assault Ship skills…in no particular order.

As you can tell, Cyberin will pretty much be trained as a jack of all trades…what I want, when I want, how I want…no long term specialized goals…that’s what alts are for.

———-

My alt, nameless, is working on hauling/logistics skills at the moment…as those are always helpful.  After those are done (around a year), I’ll figure out something else for him to work on…but no real plans past the hauling and logistics right now.  14 days till a Freighter…then I’ll just have to determine if I wanna spend the isk on one or not.  2 months or so until an Orca which will help me immensely in my salvage operations…no need to chose on spending that isk…I’ve already got it set aside.

altaug

———-

And for those who like a few more numbers:

Cyberin

Skillpoints: 2,730,000
Networth: ~ 2,823,000,000
Level 5 Skills: 2
Level 4 Skills: 20
Level 3 Skills: 29
Total Skills: 134

nameless

Skillpoints: 3,480,000
Networth: ~ 47,000,000 ISK
Level 5 Skills: 7
Level 4 Skills: 12
Level 3 Skills: 13
Total Skills: 80

I got bored last month so I bought and sold 6 PLEX for a total of 1.8 Billion ISK, used that to trade for a bit and get my ISK supply up…now I’ve just been spending a lot :) …gotta start earning again before I blow it all.

I spanked Lady Spank!

Most people might not find this impressive, but as my very first ever solo fight I’m rather pleased with myself.

I just managed to kill Lady Spank, the infamous C&P Poster, Scammer, Sly Dog, and pretty much awesome person that needs to join SN…now.  And when I say ‘just’ I do mean it…this is my ship after the fight…note the hull remaining…14%, it was such a rush for me.

firstsolo

Also of note is the fact that Spank dropped a Coreli A-Type Reactive Plate…cheapest on Contracts is 20 mil.  I was planning on giving the loots back to him, but after seeing that, I figured I’d stick with the name of my blog, and style of gaming I’m into now…and so…Hands Off, My Loots!

———-

The fight started easily enough.  I was sitting in station wondering about a post I had recently read about using ECM on a rifter and I thought I’d try it out.  There was someone outside station with a 1v1 can, but they pulled it and left literally right when I was undocking!  That’s when I saw Lady Spank say good night to everyone in local…so I thought I’d jump on the opportunity knowing Spank could never turn down a free fight.

Lady Spank > logging nn chaps
Cyberin > hey spank, come kill my rifter before you log
Lady Spank > cyberin ok

Easy Enough!

———-

So, out of warp pops Spank, and drops a can.  I head over, grab the bookmark (thanks for the free spank voucher) after I’ve got a lock and then wait for the red flashy to show up.  A Few seconds later and there it was!

Engage NOS! Engage ECM #1, wait a bit, Engage ECM #2, wait a bit longer, Engage ECM #3.  Somewhere in there I remember to active my guns as well…but that was all as I didn’t equip a point or afterburner since I didn’t expect Spank to run…and…I wanted 3 ECM so no afterburner for me.

The first cycle of all 3 missed I believe since my shield disappeared pretty much instantaneously, but my Armor took a little bit to start going down so I figured the ECM hit a few times to drop Spanks lock.  After I got him down to around 50% armor or so I started taking heavy damage and thought it was the end.

I activated my Armor Repper and took the damage off my armor as another ECM wave hit Spank and I got a little reprieve.  After that though, I think the last 2 cycles of all 3 ECM missed because after that my armor disappeared pretty quick as Spank entered low armor, and then hull.

I was sweating by this time as we were both in hull, and I know 100% that my armor repper saved me as it got in a few cycles so some damage went into armor instead of hull…excellent! (and to think, I almost didn’t equip it)

14% hull! Crap I’m going die!  There’s the explosion, the bright blue flash, and there’s my pod…no…wait…that’s not my pod?  Sweet! I won!

After the fight, we exchanged GF’s in local, and Spank mentioned ECM was boring!  Probably for him because he’s been doing it longer (he had t2 fit, etc…I can’t even use t2 small guns yet…I’m working on it).  I found it exilirating and my hearts still pumping from excitement!

I’ll have to do this again sometime, it was a blast.

There has been quite a few posts in the EVE Blogging Community today about the most recent announcement from CCP.  They released a Press Release on the new game Dust 514, and also a video to go along with it.

Plenty of other people have talked about their likes and dislikes, neither of which I am going to do…for one simple reason.  They did not release enough information for me to bite my teeth into.  Many people are speculating on how much Dust will affect the sovereignty system, or the viability of corporations in a FPS, etc…and I’m just not sure where they are getting all their info.  Granted I know that most of it is just people taking a 10 word sentence and throwing their imagination and opinions at it…but I prefer to make my opinions on facts…so I won’t throw much of my own opinions out there.

I will however say that it looks interesting, and I’m looking forward to trying it out.  Whether it’s only on console or not (since they didn’t say specifically it would not be released on PC) I will still get it since I do own an XBOX 360.  My main interest in it right now is that my brother loves console FPSes…and this may be an avenue for me to play over distance with him.  Him in Dust and me in EVE (maybe, depending on how it works).

I just think it would be cool to do something like that since as far as I know something like what CCP is now trying to do has never been done.  And on a side note, maybe this’ll renew his interest in EVE and I can get him to scan for me while I salvage :)

I must say however…the graphics are excellent!  Just looking at the below image is making me try to determine whether that Caldari Mothership is on their screen on the bridge…or if it’s orbiting the planet…kinda hard to tell.

Also, found an interview with the CCP CEO too.  I haven’t read it yet, but figured I’d link it anyway.

———-

Well I did it…here is the 2nd post I promised for today! yay!…interestingly enough…neither one of them were the 2 I was actually planning on…as those ones are still drafts being worked on for release later this week.

Why not Capital Rigs?

The official patch notes for Apocrypha 1.5 have been released, and after reading the full details of the changes in rigs I realized that I think they left a size out.

Cruisers are 5 times bigger than frigates, and 5 times smaller than Battleships.   What about Capital Ships?  They are quite a bit bigger than battleships…yet didn’t get their own size rigs.   In my opinion if we are going to get cheaper rigs for our cheaper ships…why don’t we make it a little more realistic and have larger rigs for the capital ships.

I’ve never actually flown a capital ship, so I can truthfully say I don’t have any opinions on the price increases this would cause to operating a capital ship.  But I do think it would make sense.  Possibly even one more size for Motherships and Titans which of course are even larger than normal capital ships.

Don’t get me wrong though, I’m all for this new rig change and am grateful for it either way, I just think it’s strange to base rig sizes off the ship sizes…but leave out Capital and Super-Capital sizes.

———-

I said in my earlier post that I would be posting 2 more posts today, and I shall try and get that done.  I’ve been busy trying to get caught up on over 100 google reader blog posts so I spent much of my writing time…reading, so I may get the second one out or I may not.  If not, it’ll be around tomorrow.

I’ve been meaning to join twitter (@cyberineve) for a while just to check it out and see if it’s the environment for me or not.  Now that I’ve gone to the darkside (by the way…where the hell are my cookies?) I figured it would be fun to use twitter to update my misdeeds.

While I’m at it, I might as well make this post somehow meaningful…so check out this link.  00Sage00 from Yarrbear Tales has made an excellent resource for anyone wanting to get into evetweeting…

In other news…2 posts coming later today and I’ll finally start getting back into the swing of things and making at least 2 posts per week…hopefully more!

Till then, fly dangerous, and may the Ninjas find you!

This is a quick blog before I go to bed, I’m still thinking about this, even though it happened over 12 hours ago now so I figured I’d just have to post about it.

I was in a mission today, salvaging, when one of the two mission runners dared me to loot so he could kill me. I told him I would gladly loot right after I was done salvaging.

I died in that mission deadspace.

This best part? Both the Maelstrom, and the Dominix shoot me…before I aggro’d…and they got Concordokkened…

I sure enjoyed the 40ish Million ISK of T2 loot, hope they did too :)

[ 2009.08.03 14:34:57 ] Taran Frontrunner > lol as I said.. I made 35mill off the deal myself

[ 2009.08.03 14:35:16 ] Pyth2 > Don’t see how you made 35 mil losing a T2 fitted BS

Can someone kindly explain to me how one can make 35mil off a mission, when you have TWO fully T2 fit battleships blow up?…I fail to see where the math works out there…lol

The Life of a Ninja

Well, I got accepted into Suddenly Ninjas on the 30th of Jul, and have been having quite a bit of fun with them.  I’ve gone on 2 corporate fleet operation so far, and from the looks of it…this is gonna be one awesome ride!

I wasn’t in the first op, with everyone just running around Dodixie as a fleet salvaging peoples loots…got paid 4mil for being there a short while…not much else to talk about with that one.

Now the second Op…totally different story, I was in this Op for over 8 hours and it was a BLAST.  Just a short summary, I looted, I salvaged, I killed someone who shot at me, and I killed someone who didn’t shoot at me and collect some epic tears that truthfully I think I’m gonna have a hard time getting some better than the tears I now have bottled and setting in my China Cabinet.

My First Epic Tears

I’ve included the chat log on a different page simply because it’s rather long, you can check it out with the link above and I’ll explain a little here.

The short version is, I started out ramming some random person in a belt…apparently there was something wrong with my nav system.  A conversation was had, we went back and forth about who the real prick was, evemails were sent (well, at least I sent one to his ceo…not sure about him yet), and it ended with me podding him, getting my 30 Million isk Stabber blown to hell by Concord (forgot to insure it…i really need to quit doing that), and then going to bed shortly after…was a fun time :)

Throughout the whole conversation, another member of Suddenly Ninjas managed to play the ‘good guy’ telling my new ‘friend’ that he would make sure to get me kicked from corp, and while doing all that…managed to get the password to this little miners giant secure can.  So I relieved him of his 2 hours worth of ore and told him I hacked his can.  Never once did he ever suspect that my corp mate was actually still on my side…some people really are thick headed aren’t they?

Evemail

Earlier in the operation though, we were kindly helping a mission runner clean up his wreck field when he fired on me and a few other corp members.  I went and grabbed the Stabber (that was concorded later for the guy in the belt) and went to work on him while waiting for someone else in corp that also got aggro to make it back with a bigger ship.  Ended up I didn’t need any help, even with my crappy skills.  Took him down after a few minutes with support from a Remote Repping corp mate to keep me from dying…was a fun time.

Other than those two big incedents (my first official pvp kill, and my first tears) the rest of the Op went pretty smoothly for me and I went to bed thoroughly happy with my first real excursion with the Ninjas.

Though, seeing as to how I used to be one of the people hoping that ninjas didn’t come bother me or flip my cans, I almost feel a little dirty and like a traitor.  But then again…I guess I am…but, hey…I’m enjoying EVE now…so I think the change was worth it.
