Aug-Sep Character Review

Add comments

Since I made the first Character Review post halfway through August, I decided to go ahead and wait until October to do the next one so I could get set for a regular monthly Review post.  So…here it is…not much to it, but who knows…someone might find it interesting.

———-

I decided not to do images like last time because I haven’t gotten photoshop working again since my computer died and recently got updated to Windows 7 to fix some errors.  So sadly, all you picture lovers (any Goons read the blog?) will have to wait until next month to see those beautiful pie charts.

I also forgot to print out my skillsheet for the first review post, so while I know I have more skills, I’m not 100% of which ones I trained recently, so this will just be a short overview of what I think I trained, and then I’ll start keeping better records to make future Reviews more in-depth and informative!

For Cyberin, I trained up some more scanning skills, a few T2 Frigates (CovOps, Stealth Bombers, Electronic Attack), T2 Small Autocannons and Artillery, T2 Small Projectile Ammo, and then some random other skills.  And when I say random, I do mean random.  I trained up for a crappy fit Drake to work in wormholes with, got the Caldari Cruiser just high enough to use it, then trained for a T2 shield tank fit and that was about it.  A few days were spent training up some missile skills to be able to use Siege Launchers and Torps for my Hound, but I have a long way to go to get them to a respectable level.

Sadly, I still haven’t worked on my learning skills.  I should have done them when I first made the Cyberin, since I’ve now respecced, it will take me 40 days just to get the Basics to 5 and the Advanced to 4 like I plan on doing…I’m not looking forward to wasting all that time when I could be training other stuff…we will see when I decide to do that.

On the Alt’s side of things, Nameless can now fly Amarr Transport ships and Freighters (and has one of each) as well as T2 tank and T2 ECM to put on the Transports.  Working on Cloaking 4 right now for the CovOps cloak on the Blockade Runner, then it’s off on my 60 day run for an Orca…then most likely will head for logistics.

———-

And for those who like a few more numbers:

Cyberin

Skillpoints: 4,605,000
Networth: ~ 1,585,000,000 ISK
Level 5 Skills: 5
Level 4 Skills: 26
Level 3 Skills: 31
Total Skills: 150

nameless

Skillpoints: 5,543,000
Networth: ~ 1,204,000,000 ISK
Level 5 Skills: 10
Level 4 Skills: 16
Level 3 Skills: 17
Total Skills: 85

I have a lot of random skills, but that’s because I’m a rather random guy at the moment.  I decide I want to try something out, so I skill for the bare minimum and then try it.  I know lots of people say don’t fly it if you don’t have all the support skills and relevant skills up to 4, etc…but truthfully…I don’t care.  It’s my game and I’ll play it how I wanna!  If I want to go get killed because my skills suck for the ship I’m in…oh well…at least it was a fun time.

That’s it for now…expect a much better Review next month!

I really worked hard and early on my learning skills and it took a lot of forbearance. On the real long training skills, if one of my attributes could be boosted one point prior to committing to the few weeks for a long train – then I do 1 point on a learning skill first (usually 2-3 days). I made sure I got the main learning skill to 5 first.

It helps to have more than one account to really specialize your learning in certain areas.

    Character Sheet->skills->history(tab)

Sadly, that doesn't show everything, so not much use.

The learning skills are epic time-savers. I ignored them for a while on my 3 yr old main, since I was of the mindset "If it doesn't get me new guns or ships I dun wannit!" Well, here I am 4 months into my alt, and as far as SP goes, he's probably going to overtake my main (partly due to me nerfing the hell out of intelligence and mem with a "2AM, I'm really tired so I'm gonna do somethint stupid" respec) at some point in the future. If nothing else, get Learning to V since it's the all-rounder.

  5. Cyberin Says:

Yeah, I'm slowly working on them a bit at a time…they'll get done sometime in the near/mid future…though since Cyber is my do-everything character it doesn't bother me much…I've got all the time in the world :D
