The first banter of 2010 comes to us from the EVE Blog Father, CrazyKinux himself, who asks the following: As we begin another year in New Eden, ask yourselves “What Now?” What will I attempt next? What haven’t I done so far in EVE? Was it out fear, funds, or knowledge? Have I always wanted to start my own corporation, but have never dared doing so? Is there a fledging mercenary waiting to come out of its shell? Or maybe an Industrialist? What steps and objectives will I set myself to accomplish in order to reach my ultimate goal for this year? EVE is what you make of it. So, what is it going to be for you?
Well, as you might know when you read my blog, I am getting Ready for some PvP action. In fact, I have taken my Bomber for a Ride today, more on that later. I have never really done PvP before, besides going into lowsec with an insured frigate to get blown up or loosing a Battleship to a bunch of russians in deep 0.0. By now I hope to get at least a bit of PvP experience, because I think that this is the one thing every Eve Player should have tried.
Other than PvP’ing, I will try to find a more interesting way to earn money. Missions are… not optimal in that way. I might try some trading. To be honest: the only thing I will never try is scamming. Partly because I cant stand scammers and partly because scamming people is getting harder. Ofc I can still try to sell a Raven as a Raven Navy Issue in the Station Trade Window, but I think every player knows how to check info on an Item. Even though not everyone does it, appearently. Other than that, scamming is aggainst the rules of my Alliance and I dont want to get kicked now, because I am working at some projects for the Alliance.
Im thinking about doing some cross training for Minmatar T2 Frigs. Its only 12d of Training to enable a whole bunch of new options, including the Hound Stealth Bomber that is way better than the caldari one. Of course this means more cross training towards Minmatar weapons and Armor tanking, but I rolled some numbers in EveMon and figured out that it would take me 55 Days to fly a Jaguar, T2 fitted (including weapons), and Thermodynamics IV, Nanite Operation IV and Nanite Interfacing IV. And most of the trained skills, except Assault Ships, will help my other ships, too. Or at least the Rifter I am planning to get. Not too bad, especially because I will have to take a break from eve for 3 weeks soon(tm), because my final exams are approaching. At least I know what to train on my main.
More problems with my alt: He is going to get good skills for his Dominix, but T2 Sentries may be nice, but they are sooo far away (50+ days). I might aswell train him more towards support and logistics (Not the Ship class, the way to get stuff into deep 0.0 without being hotdropped by multiple titans, e.g. Blockade Runners). Still no decision made here, until I am finished thinking about it, he will get large Hybrid Turret Skills.
But now I will go hunting some more times with my Bomber and test the claims of CCP that its not about Skillpoints but about Tactics who wins an Engagement. At least I am the attacker now, not the poor little victim sitting in his ship and getting jumped by multiple carriers. I hope.

don’t count the days, it is too depressing, just count all the things you can do while those days pass

If you’ve had a chance to watch the Alliance tourney competition – IMO it is clear that even with billion dollar ships, if you play’em wrong, you’re going to lose anyway.
But a billion dollar ship in the right hands – like watching one of the Tengu’s in the tourney take down 3 Battlecruisers single-handedly – is a force of nature.
Good luck with your plans.
