As have many others in the past week I have (at last) jumped onto the eve blogging bandwagon! I dont presume to have a vast knowledge, and certainly dont have large amounts of experience when it comes to everything the New Eden universe has to offer, but with this blog I will seek to enlighten the path from novice to expert, and chart the difficulties and challenges faced by those not quite so simple eve dilemmas that all too often arrise.
A little about me. I have been playing for a couple of months now, getting to grips with the damned complicated UI, and growing my understanding of game mechanics, races etc. After bantering around like a headless chicken in novice chat I was eventually pointed in the direction of Eve University, where I began to grow and become more involved in the community. After a stint as an RO I became burdened and bored with the Universities wartime policies and left – somewhat controversially – for the Seppuku Warriors in search of some actual training of how to play what I consider to be the primary focus of the game – pvp. SW provided a stepping stone for me to jump into a big 0.0 alliance and I managed to pass selection into TGRADS – my current home.
Having kicked it with the corp around Tribute and Delve, smashing whats left of BoB (to a certain extent) I can now safely say that I have comprehensively experienced small and large fleet combat, scouting, bombing, solo, camps – the works. Although I dont presume to be a master, I am mildly competent, and with my limited skill points so far, have been doing a reasonably good job.
It is my intention to provide this blog as a chart of my own eve progress, for myself, and to establish a forum for discussion and advice for newer players that have reached that post-uni stage of around 4 – 5 million skillpoints and are looking for exactly what to do next. To that end, I welcome discussion and questions, (if anyone reads this!) and I will respond with the accumulated knowledge of my own, my corp and the advice given below.
Posts will begin in earnest in a few days (once I have finished my 5th year Finals), until then, Pod Ya Later
