Here’s a question, should people go out with their main on such EVE Tourist Trips, or instead create a simple alt (on their main account or even a trial)?
Been thinking on this, and milking the brains of a few people in EVE’s biggest hub of all, the Black Hole of Jita.
A lot of feedback revolved around questions of scope and limits of tourist trips, which makes sense. If a trip takes us out to the EVE Gate there is not much that will have big consequences, but if we go out to low sec and nibble on a farmer there are things like security status hits to take into account.
Some people will happily accept such things, others prefer not to become outlaws.
I’d say that whoever someone wants to bring is fine, it IS their choice, but they should fully realise that the Tourism industry can be quite messy. And for starting or younger players it – in my humble opinion – makes sense to create an alt, and use that for their ventures in Tourism, without getting the hands of their main dirty.
So to speak.
Then there is the ISK argument. We’re not thinking of 5 star luxury trips here. But cheap mass consumer tours, yes, cheap. The idea is after low-key and simple stuff. But that does not just mean ships and gear, you have to consider your clone as well ….
It’s why I am leaning towards the idea of creating alts. Simple, cheap, doesn’t take a lot of time, and they are perfectly disposable identities with which we can do things which our main character would perhaps blush hard for.
