The flying Spacepig

Been some time seence my last post, its been alot of stuff at work so i havent had time to play that much. So what has happen ingame then?

Well at last i got the skills for t2 drones. Drones are a importent part of the warfair in EVE and some forget them, they do alot more damange then the t1 drones. I can now also fly mimatar cruisers and battlecruisers. Now i have to focus on getting the skills for my first t2 ship, Wolf and Jaguar. I started traning one of the supportskills today and within this month i will be able to fly assault ships fully t2 fitted. Another 15 days after that and i will be able to use Stealthbombers. The plan is to get the skills to fly t2 stealthbomber, covert ops, assault ship from amarr, gallante and mimatar. This will open up alot of ships for me to fly before i go to my next goal a HAC.

Some other news. I might switch to a new corp and close down my own. Right now we are a two man corp and i’m thinking about joining the holding corp of our alliacne, Council of Intarnal War (C-I-W). They are 37 members to day so with me, my alt and Rin we would become 40 members in that corp. I think i can be of better use to the alliance in the C-I-W instead of in my own small corp. Gonna talk to Rin about tomorrow and if his okey with it we might start moving our stuff from our hanger this weekend.

Some nights ago me and some alliance friends went on a wormhole operation. This was the first time for me. It was a ratting / mining operation so we brougt a retriver and a hulk with us. The rest was battlecruisers, stealthbombers a HIC and a assault frig. I went in a Harbinger battlecruiser and my corpmate Rianna went in a Hurrican. It took some time to get everyone to the first system where the wormhole was. Both me and Rin was in Providence so we had 12 – 13 jump trip before we could join up with our fleet. In all we was 8 ships.

We went into the wormhole with the stealthbombers as souts. In the first wormhole we did not find any hostiles so we all went in and got our self to a safespot that Velvet had created for us. In this wormhole we could scan out a POS and a number of emty ships. We where contaced in local by someone who wanted to know if we where hostiles or not. As most of us are 0.0 players we allmost never answers in local. After a while we went to a belt where we dropped off our miners. Velvet left an alt with a covertops ships as guard for our miners and we where all ready to jump in if anyone tryed to attack them. A stray rifter pilot came into the belt at one point to check us out. He contacted our alliance diplomat that was in our fleet and asked who we where and stuff. For some reason our 8 ship strong fleet with BC’s a HIC and couple of SB’s had scared them alot. We told then we where just out to have some fun.. pop sleepers and mine some.

The ratting begins – Well pretty fast Velvet had scanned down some sleepers. We went in and found rats with BC’s and frigs. I must say i was abit chocked when on hit allmost took out my entire shield. But soon we where on the winning side and killed them. It took a couple of warp outs before we had killed them. At the first wormhole we had no one with salvage modules so we could only take the loot. The loot wasnt anything special As the wormhole was getting more unstable we decided that i was time for us to leave and start scanning for a 2nd wormhole. We got our mining ships out and we started to scan for a new wormhole. We where lucky.. we found a 2nd wormhole that looked very nice. This time it was ratting only and we also picked up salvage modules.

The 2nd wormhole – This wormhole was abit more fun. The sleepers that came at us this time was at first, one battleship. By now we had started to figure out how to take this sleepers down. The danger is the torrents.. they lock you allready at 150km range and they start doing some real damange around 50 – 60 km. I went in with my harbinger up close to the battleship and used my webb to get its speed down and i started to open fire with my pulselasers. After we had managed to take out the battleship there was a big BC’s spawn and if you have been in wormholes your know that they are fast and do alot more damange then any other BC’s rat does in this game. So we got out of there. After some repairing of my armor i was ready to go back in and help take out those BC’s. As we killed the last BC’s, two large battleship spawned. We got out of there in the last second. But we took them down aswell.

This was a very fun op and we will do this again..

Late last night me and some alliance friends trained pvp fighting in Providence. We where at a safespot and trying out diffrent fitting for PVP. I was AFK for a minut or so and when i came back to the computer i see 3 reds in the system. They where from U’K and where passing the system. We decide to follow them and after hunting them for a couple of systems they where ready to take us on. We jumped to the X6AB gate and a scout told us that they had there drones out and everything. It was two HAC Vagabond and one Force Recon Pilgrim.

I was flying my Domi and my alliances friends was flying a assault frig and a Broadsword. Soon we where joined by other friendlys that wanted in on this fight. Pretty fast they took out the assault frig and after that they went for my Domi. My Domi isnt that well fitted yet so they did a pretty short work of me. They didnt try to take on the Broadsword at all. Short after i lost my ship they left. So they got away.

The lost of the Domi for me was no problem at all. This was my first real PVP fight and i  knew that i  might lose the ship. The ship was insured and i think that all in all i lost about 30 mil and it was worth every penny of it. It is the only way that you can lern. So what did we lern from this fight? Our 3 man gang wasnt that orginized. I was the FC and i wasnt really in total control in this fight. We need to get better at chooseing what target to attack and what our roles in the fight should be.

I also got an advice from a much older player then me and that was to stay out of the Battleship until i can fitt it real good. In that he is right. If i’m going to fly the domi i need to get my sentri drones skill up and the energy emission skill up to lvl 4 so that i can use heavy neuts to kill caps.  I’m going to post some ingame screenshoots later.

In the alliance we do alot hunting for reds in southern Providence. Tonight we did yet another of our patrol in a small gang. The southern Providence has been pretty quiet the last week. Many of my alliance buddies want to take part in some pvp action at least. Somehow allways when we are out in providence to do our part to defend providence there seems to be no reds to kill. Most of them sit for hours / days cloaked up in systems. If i got cought like that i might try to hide for a while but after that i would fight my way out or die trying..

Did some ratting aswell tonight and made allmost 20 mil on ratting alone. There are many good ways of making good isk in Providence. Been livning in Providence for allmost a month now and i really like it. The life of mining and missionrunning in highsec wasnt my thing in the long run.

Today I got my new computer! At last i was going to see how EVE looks like with a good GFX card. And of course its alot more fun playing the game on a computer that can handle the graphics on the highest settings and still have no problem with computer lagg. Soon I will connect my 2nd monitor so that i can play both my accounts at the same time.

So… what happend ingame tonight then? Well i did alot of shoping.. i bought all in all 30 small rigs and a couple of medium as well for my fleet of frigs and cruisers. I’ve also planned the skill so that in 2 days i can fly both amarr BC and mimatar BC. The Hurrican is a much loved ship on forums and on battleclinic. I think i can put together a nice mixed t1 / t2 hurrican for PVP.

So i guess not so much action today.. i couldnt go back to providence becouse there was a big red fleet between Tash / domain and Providence. It would be more or less a sucide to try to get in there tonight so i will wait until tomorrow to bring down my updated omen with riggs that really looks good with my new GFX card

Well that is just great, a new update and my harddrive  commit sucide of course. I was doing a antivirus scan  to make sure i haven’t got any of those nasty keyloggers that hacks your EVE account on my computer. In the middle of the scan my harddrive made that sound.. you know.. and i knew it was time to look for a new harddrive.

So now i’m going to quit playing EVE on my laptop and fix my desktop computer so i can start playing both my accounts at the same time.

Hi all!

My on going task to get a nice pvp boat to use in Providence goes on. Been working on a anti-hac BS fitting and it’s looking bad…for the hac’s =) This fitting will aquire some traning (about 10 days) and it’s primary weapon will be drones. I will not say more right now.

I created killboard for my corp The Evil Monkey’s In Space today. Only got losses so far but I hope I will fill it up with some kills soon. I will post a link here when it’s ready to be viewed.

Well its allways hard choices when you decide what ships and skills you train for. You can’t only train for the ships, the supportskills that allow you to fitt the ship good is the hard part. For a while now I wanted to get good skills for a solo pvp ship. I got a plan for stealthbomber and assault frigate. But it will take about 45 days until I can fly them both, so what to do?

I’m going to get the skills to fly a hurrican with good DPS and t2 drones first. The entire skillplan that also include getting my battlecruiser skill up to lvl 4 for more DPS will take about 19 days. Then I will be albe to fly and fitt it real good. Not t2 guns but allmost as good. It will be a buffer / speedtank fitting that can deliver allmost 400 dps. That will take out alot of targets. This ship will be used in the defence of Providence, both as a solohunter and a fleet ship. With the new miniupdate the cost for the rigging of this ship will be alot less then before the update. Some of the skills I need for the hurrican I will need in my assault + stealthbomber skillplan aswell so I wont lose that much time on it.
