My Thoughts: A Day One Post-Dominion Blog Post

Everybody is doing it! Whoo!

So, my thoughts on Dominion so far are limited to the two hours I’ve spent playing it today (Damn you work!) Tomorrow I intend on posting a fuller, more in depth work on what I really think about Dominion, but for now I will say this:

  • The patching process went over smoothly. Props to CCP for thier timely work.
  • The in-game browser is BEAUTIFUL. I tweeted from EVE, I commented on blogs from EVE, I watched por- Nah, just kidding. Seriously though, the IGB is amazing. Epic props to CCP.
  • Planet graphics are breathtaking. I mean… Wow. CCP has done an amazing job at improving the visual aspects of this already visually stunning game in the past 5 years. I don’t know any other game company that can claim to have worked as hard as CCP to make such a visually pleasing game and to keep improving it as they go along.
  • Soviergnty changes, despite all the hooplah, look very promising. I’m excited to see how my home system evolves in the coming weeks.
  • HACKING, THERMO AND ARCHEOLOGY!!! WHOOOOOO!!! Since professions were released, I wanted to train for them but couldn’t draw myself from my strict combat training plans to dabble in them. Now I can, and it is oh so exciting.

That’s about it. I’m super excited for tomorrow, when I get to spend the whole day playing. I plan on joining a fleet op to kill some slavers and see if we can annoy CVA somewhat.

Until next time, Reader!

So, I’m Looking For A Job…

As the title implies, I’m in the market for a job. A second job, that is. I work for the Disney Corporation currently, as a cook, and I love it. It’smy career job (Chef, that is.) and it’s wonderful and all, but with all me bills, I need a second job. I tried my hand at retail and decided that isn’t for me, but I wasn’t sure what to do.

Enter the brilliant idea. Since I got interested in web games (A game called Tibia), I started seeing adds for “MAKE TONS OF MONEY ONLINE IN ONE DAY! OMFG! DON’T BE DUMB!” Now, I know almost all of these sites are scams, but I know they have to be based off of some form of facts. So I am looking for online jobs right now.

The internet is full of crap, however. I’ve been wading through scams and, to be honest, I’m getting grumpy about it. So I ask you, my four readers, do you know of any web services that are looking for an employee? I can write reviews, I can fill out surveys, I have a face for radio and I give awesome imaginary shoulder massages. Do I have any hope of finding a nice little part time job from the comfort of my home or should I suck it up and work 80 hours a week in a kitchen?

Where I Am

Every blogger, especially EVE Bloggers, has a “See see, what had happened was..” Post about why they haven’t posted in a long time. It’s usually decently sized (2-3 paragraphs, 5 max) and details about how thier cat died and thier job has been rough, or little things like babies being born or moving to Canada (I wonder who my blogging inspiration is…) Usually, after the excuses, they make a promise to write more in the future, but not the near future, as they are still repairing/experiencing/eating what is keeping them busy currently. It’s pretty much a post that keeps space so that CrazyKinux doesn’t take them off the blog pack.

Here’s mine.

Um… I’ve been busy. I’ll blog more soon.

Thanks for reading!

A Quiet Night

The ships internal systems whirled to life as the massive stargate began to bubble and churn with energy. A bright flash occured at a central point on the huge machine, stretching for as far as Kellnirr’s camera drones could see.

A few moments passed in silence, feeling like eternity to the lone Wolf pilot. His prey was momentarily protected by the energy falloff from the gate activation, cloaking the ship. Suddenly, the energy dissipated and the ship lurched into action.

Kellnirr’s Wolf sped towards the lone Probe, a scout ship employed by the Slavers. His targeting systems activated and he attempted to scramble the defenseless ship. Cackling in his mind, he opened fire…

Only to watch the ship leap into the distance, into the safety of the dark abyss.

The Wolf’s engines powered down. With a curse, Kellnirr mentally noted the third ship to pass through LFA space tonight with Warp Core Stabilizers active.

Thundercats… HO!

First off, sorry for the lack of postage lately. Been a rough week with rent due and work not paying me as much as they were going to. Everything got sorted out though, so life is back on track and EVE is back online for me.

Today I finished training Mechanic V, which completes the training plan for the Assault Frigate Wolf I want to fly in fleets (And to actually dent the rats in my nullsec space). I flew out to Empire, picked up the book and trained it. I’m now training it to level III while flying around in an awesome looking ship. After that I’ll be training hull upgrades to level IV, as then I can equip the tech II variants of my armor fittings, taking my EHP up 3K.

For now, though.. I’m just super excited! =)

It comes to my attention though that my support skills are sub-par. So, on a whim, I opened EVEMon and looked at a skill plan to get some of the basic comp certificates.

To get Basic Core Competency, it willtake me 2d, 6h. To get Standard it will take me 49 days. 49 DAYS!?! Like that’s gonna happen!

Instead of train all of that at once, as I need to feel like I’m actually going somewhere in life, I’ve decided to sprinkle the skills through my other skill plans, that way once I can fly all the tech II Minmitar frigates with all thier tech II fittings, I will also have all the support skills trained up and can easily make the transition into Cruisers.

Until then, I’m gonna blow shit up with my Wolf.

That Time of the Year…

I’m trying to make this post quick, as I am going to be late for work.

For those who follow my blog (I think I’m at 5 readers now.), you know full well that today is the long awaited (almost three weeks!), much anticipated (by all six of us!) CrazyKinux Apprieciation Day!

For those who don’t follow my blog, take a short moment to contemplate what has taken you so long to find it. If you found it before this post, think long and hard why you didn’t start following it. If at all possible, close this window and wash your eyes out. It’s probably better for the both of us.

HERE IT IS PEOPLE! CK Apprieciation Day (OP here) has arrived for Mr. CrazyKinux’s viewing pleasure! So head over to his site, his twitter, his email or his in-game character and overload his brain with the love you feel! Trust me, you’ll feel better afterwards!

With that, I must go to work (Sadly). I’ll be online tonight to continue the love overload!

Make me proud, Eve-Bloggers!

A Friendly Reminder (Of Greatness)

So, I just wanted to remind you all (Since more people seem to be reading my blog now! (All 4 of you!)) that this Friday, October 30th, is CrazyKinux Appreciation Day! (View here)

To sum it up, show your appreciation for the King of Bloggers by heading over to Crazykinux’s website (Here) on Friday and posting lots of love on his site. I’m talking love spam. For those of us that have his Twitter (@crazykinux) or his email (I won’t give that out!) or even his in-game name (More stuff I can’t give away. The man needs his privacy sometimes =P), send even more love through these mediums.

My goal is for a small explosion to go off in CK’s brain around midnight on the 31st when he can no longer take the love overload he’s getting.

Get to it people. Post links to this blog in your blogs, bios, twitter pages, etc and tell the world about CK Appreciation Day!

Wormhole EXTREME!

Welcome to the thirteenth installment of the EVE Blog Banter, the monthly EVE Online blogging extravaganza created by CrazyKinux. The EVE Blog Banter involves an enthusiastic group of gaming bloggers, a common topic within the realm of EVE Online, and a week to post articles pertaining to the said topic. The resulting articles can either be short or quite extensive, either funny or dead serious, but are always a great fun to read! Any questions about the EVE Blog Banter should be directed here. Check out other EVE Blog Banter articles at the bottom of this post!

The first banter of this 2nd year of EVE Blog Banters comes to us from Zargyl from A Sebiestor Scholar, who asked the following: On the EVE Fanfest2009 page are pictures of prizes for the Silent Auction that was held during the event. One of these photos was entitled “Design your own EVE mission”. My question now would be what kind of mission would you write if you got that prize? What would the mission be about? Would it be one using the new system of epic mission arks? What would be the story told by it? Feel free to expand upon his questions and put together your very own mission!

I’m not going to lie. I thought a ton about this and came up with an epic mission arc that would take you into nullsec and WH space, but life hit the fan and I find myself stuck the morning before the Banter goes live with no meat to add to my flavorful Mission Arc sauce. So, instead, I will post a single mission excerpt from the arc.

The mission arc thus far took you into null-sec, into your worst enemies’ territory (the game would take a random system from a random red alliance/corp) to seek out archaeologicalruins left behind by a mysterious, pre-sleeper race. You return to the agent, who tells you a wormhole has opened up in a nearby system and preliminary scans reveal that there are ruins in the WH system that are similar to the ones in you just investigated. However, the ruins are protected by Sleeper ships.

This mission will be far along the arc’s path and will require other players to join. The wormhole generated by the mission will be a class 4 WH. The ship that analyzes the ruins will have to have only a tank (The analyzer module is high tech and if weapons are fit, there won’t be cpu/PG to fit a tank, which is required against sleepers) and DPS/Repper support will be required.

When you arrive, you fight off endless waves of sleepers as the analyzer ship is forced to tank the damage while analyzing the ruins, which will take a considerable amount of time. Once the analyzing is done (There will be several ruins to analyze and each will take 5 minutes), a final wave will appear that will activate a warp disruption field in the sleeper bubble, forcing you to finsih them off.

You return to Kspace and your agent to report your findings.

I love the idea of WH missioning, personally. It takes the Nullsec/Lowsec missioning high to a new level by adding the unpredictability of Sleeper warfare and WH space.

Thoughts and ideas?

Codename “Salvation”

Begin recording Captain’s Log 1026111.2

I have found my exit. My NAV computer has labeled it Wormhole A239. I am calling it Codename Salvation. I could hear my crew celebrate as we approached the event horizon of the shimmering, fresh wormhole. Scans say that no one has found the wormhole yet, so no matter what is on the other side I should be relatively safe.

I intiated warp and entered the event horizon.

And appeared on the other side, in Slaver space. Just my luck.
