Welcome to the thirteenth installment of the EVE Blog Banter, the monthly EVE Online blogging extravaganza created by CrazyKinux. The EVE Blog Banter involves an enthusiastic group of gaming bloggers, a common topic within the realm of EVE Online, and a week to post articles pertaining to the said topic. The resulting articles can either be short or quite extensive, either funny or dead serious, but are always a great fun to read! Any questions about the EVE Blog Banter should be directed here. Check out other EVE Blog Banter articles at the bottom of this post!
The first banter of this 2nd year of EVE Blog Banters comes to us from Zargyl from A Sebiestor Scholar, who asked the following: On the EVE Fanfest2009 page are pictures of prizes for the Silent Auction that was held during the event. One of these photos was entitled “Design your own EVE mission”. My question now would be what kind of mission would you write if you got that prize? What would the mission be about? Would it be one using the new system of epic mission arks? What would be the story told by it? Feel free to expand upon his questions and put together your very own mission!
I’m not going to lie. I thought a ton about this and came up with an epic mission arc that would take you into nullsec and WH space, but life hit the fan and I find myself stuck the morning before the Banter goes live with no meat to add to my flavorful Mission Arc sauce. So, instead, I will post a single mission excerpt from the arc.
The mission arc thus far took you into null-sec, into your worst enemies’ territory (the game would take a random system from a random red alliance/corp) to seek out archaeologicalruins left behind by a mysterious, pre-sleeper race. You return to the agent, who tells you a wormhole has opened up in a nearby system and preliminary scans reveal that there are ruins in the WH system that are similar to the ones in you just investigated. However, the ruins are protected by Sleeper ships.
This mission will be far along the arc’s path and will require other players to join. The wormhole generated by the mission will be a class 4 WH. The ship that analyzes the ruins will have to have only a tank (The analyzer module is high tech and if weapons are fit, there won’t be cpu/PG to fit a tank, which is required against sleepers) and DPS/Repper support will be required.
When you arrive, you fight off endless waves of sleepers as the analyzer ship is forced to tank the damage while analyzing the ruins, which will take a considerable amount of time. Once the analyzing is done (There will be several ruins to analyze and each will take 5 minutes), a final wave will appear that will activate a warp disruption field in the sleeper bubble, forcing you to finsih them off.
You return to Kspace and your agent to report your findings.
I love the idea of WH missioning, personally. It takes the Nullsec/Lowsec missioning high to a new level by adding the unpredictability of Sleeper warfare and WH space.
Thoughts and ideas?

Sounds like a fun mission. WH missionins could have some issues, such as the mission timer as it’s very possible you could be stuck inside for weeks.
Would be fun though, not knowing if you could get back in time!

Nice idea with a mission into a wormhole. It would great if such a mission would reveal a bit more info about the Sleepers their history and their plans! Sorry to hear about your stressy RL.
