A Memoir from Space

The dreaded has happened… Yes, THAT… My game time ran out. *Cue gasping from audience*

The bad part? I was in a Corp mates battlecruiser in a neighboring wormhole right before we were going to do a combat site, with no probes… Yeah, fuck me. That means total losses of a set of +3’s, a fitted Prophecy, and a perfectly good clone. Since I’m screwed no matter when I log in, I will be taking a short haitus from EVE for a week or two. Life has me busy with auditions for the Marine Band (yes, I am a band geek, and proud), ROTC keeping my busy, Area marching contest (with a chance to go to State marching contest), and the family being hell as usual.

Of course, since my EVE time is on hold, so will this blog.

In case you didn’t know about it, there is a public channel in EVE called EVE Bloggers. Now, one can only imagine the shits and giggles to be had amongst a bunch of witty EVE players…. If only these charismatic individuals would join the chat! Currently, its only me and two others in there at any given time that I’ve been on. So jump in!

Sorry to everyone reading this (all 5 of you) for not posting much recently. Time has been kicking my ass. High School Marching contests (moving up to Area, we have a shot at state!), ROTC, practicing region music and learning minor scales (try outs for the Marine Band) have kept me from playing EVE or anything else entertaining for that matter.

The good news is, I’ve got an iPhone, so this won’t be a problem anymore. I just got a whole lot busier during my bathroom breaks…

Not much news in EVE, other than I’m a week out from getting into a Stealth Bomber, and even longer until I fly it while armed to the teeth. At least my Vengeance will keep me entertained.

Once agian, an abysmal show of participation on the Corp’s behalf. the CEO, a Dircetor, myself, and two others were all that were online to get some combat done (which nearly lost me a battleship, and harvest the c-320 cloud in the neighboring system. Of course, the money will be split amongst us (screw you, whoever flooded the market with c-320, halved the price….) but I’m less concerned with me getting my “fair share” and more with making this worth while. We were maybe halfway through the cloud when we had to leave due to time constraints and the wormhole begining to collapse.

That bitch fest aside, I have set 20 million isk aside for getting a Vengeance when the wormhole God’s deem it proper. Not much use in wormhole operations, but you never know when the  call to arms will come (such as this incident here http://www.planetriskshow.com/i-want-my-money-back/ things probable might have gone different had I been online in a Vengeance…).

As for future plans, can anyone say “T3″? We are in a wormhole, with all the resources. It can only be expected.

Tomorrow afternoon I will FINALLY have Amarr Frigate to level V. Instead of the shiny Retribution, I will be opting for a Vengeance to be used in tandem with a friend’s Retribution. Duo of Death? I think so. After that is the long haul for Electronics Upgrades V and getting my missile skills up to par for stealth bombers. My missile skills were decent when I left the Drake, and I haven’t touched them since going Amarr. I must say, a lot of things to look forward to.

Ever heard of him? Shame on you! Seriously, if you haven’t been keeping up with his Blog, you really should. For all the effort he puts into maintaining the Blog Pack, Blog Banter, and anything blog related, he could at least get some traffic for it.

Funny how I get the best and worst of luck, all at once.

Things were going slow in the worm hole (we really should name it, I guess I will just refer to it as Valhalla from now on), so I decided to keep myself entertained in good fashion with a low sec roam, alone. First jump into low sec, eyes on my overview…  Someones there! In… a Navitas? 12 clicks off the gate? What is going on here? I close into orbit, lock him up, and convo him. After getting no response or movement, I figured he was afk.

Great news right? Free kill first jump into low sec with no risk? Nope. Flying a T1 frigate with no way of surviving station guns -_- Knowing I couldn’t suicide him, I aligned, took a shot at him for shits and giggles, and warped off before the guns could kill me and continued the roam. NOBODY in all 5 jumps. Quite a boring night. Ah well, I’m sure to see some action soon.

For both of my toons, I was recruited into Corporations without even looking for one, I’m just asked to join. As I was flying around in low sec with my newbie character, someone noticed that my bio states “anyone wanna pew pew?”. Person asked in local for a 1v1. Now, of course, me accepting and meeting him up with him able to prepare is breaking every rule of PvP ever. Good thing I’m not in it for serious business. I request that if its ok, we go to structure, I’d rather fly more later into the night without sinking money into a new ship. So, I warp on top of his Griffin, lock him up, and open fire. First couple of shots gets his shields down nicely and he drops a warrior. Time to take that sucker out… Fuck. Jammed. Almost popped it too! So, I keep in tight, orbiting quickly as I try to get a lock on him. By this time, he is VERY slowly biting into my armor. I ask him if he can has me perma jammed and cap stable, to which he replies yes. He lets the jam go, allowing me to eat his armor in short order. In response, he jams me again. So, I warp off and exchange “good fight”’s. What next? I let him know this is just my alt for shits and giggles, getting into piracy, and he offers me to join his Corp. Why the hell not?

Great bunch of guys I must say. Met up with two of them, one which recruited me, and went flying in low sec. Didn’t run into anyone we could take not at a gate, but fun none the less, dodging Catalysts, Drakes, Vengeance’s, and the like. I see some fun times on the horizon.

Writing a blog that can’t be read… Apparently my privacy settings were such that the  blog may as well never existed… Probably a good idea to change those default settings, don’t you think?

I decided I would make a new toon for the fun of it. A Brutor to be exact, flying around in a Rifter. I am well aware of the difficulty being a master of all tanking, so setting up skills is definitely going to be fun… Sure, I won’t be any Roc Wieler, but this should fill up the time waiting for action in the wormhole nicely.
