Unsheathing my Sabre

The Captains Log 4/9

 

Well I took my Sabre out on its maiden voyage deep into KIA space. It wasn’t a planed OP, me Die1 wanted to shoot something, so we got some likeminded people together and off we went (with me as FC). We charged deep into KIA space in the hope of finding a ratter, miner or even a hostile fleet to engage. We got to their station systems and what did we find nothing. They weren’t home, or were docked up in station.

So, with resignation in our hearts we began to head back home and low and behold we ran into Armageddon that landed on gate with us. Up my bubble went and the fight began. The Wolf and Lachesis in fleet had him pinned down and the Dominix was tearing his armour apart. I closed in on him to help the rest of fleet only to see his drones engage him and quickly strip my shield to nothing. Shit. I tried to burn out of the bubble and warp out, but I was done for and my ship was reduced scrap metal, though the Armageddon followed shortly behind. Fortunately, for me most of my modules dropped and we were able to pick them up. Die1 also gave me some ISK to cover my loss which was nice of him.

After the Armageddon kill the KIA members came out of the wood work and chased us back home, where we formed a new fleet and went back out to get them (this time I was in a hound). However, they didn’t engage us and the closet we got to a kill was a Dominix who hit CTRL Q so we couldn’t kill him.

 

What did I learn.

After you put up a bubble GTFO of it. Your job is done once the bubble is up. I might try changing my guns to artillery so that I can orbit outside of the bubble and still get away with shooting them. Have to play around on EFT a bit.
