The War Against Pallimus

July 1, 2009 in Uncategorized by StarScream Xion

I haven’t posted anything in a little while so I thought I would write some things about what’s being going on with the corporation in the last month or two.  Since I last posted our alliance Brig Consortium has been through two wars and another war is just beginning.

The first war was against a one man corp, a lot of the alliance members were new to war at the time and several capsuleers in the alliance lost their ships to the war target’s Cerberus.  The one man was a Caldari known as Pallimus.

My first enounter with Pallimus was quite interesting.   Having spotted the target’s presence in local I undocked in a Rifter fit for tackling and he proceeded to engage me.  I attempeted to fight back however it quickly became apparent that neither of us was going to win this engagement in a hurry.  I can’t remember exactly how it went, I think I simply flew away from him, but the fight broke off and I eventually docked up in our home station at the 7th moon of Venilen IX.

At this point I was getting a little concerned, the Cerberus is a  Caldari heavy assualt  cruiser, an upgraded version of the Caracal.  This was not a ship anyone in Xion Limited was familiar with as it requires some very sepecific skills to fly.  We were however familiar with the Caracal so we had some idea of what to expect.  Not long after my first encounter with the target Cortez undocked in his Drake and tiried to take on the target.  The shield tank on Cortez’s Drake, ‘Death Magnetic’,  is legendary and the war target was unable to punch through it however at that time Cortez didn’t have a warp disruptor fitted and he was able to get away.

Over the following week there were many cat and mouse games outside of our home station.  It seemed like whenever Pallimus was online he would camp outside the station just outside of our range.  He managed to take some of the younger members of the alliance by surprise however the ships he succeeded in taking down were fairly cheap in the grand scheme of things.  As an alliance we learned, adapted and slowly managed to turn the tables.

I’m afriad I can’t give too many details on the engaments as I was not present, but we successfully took out Pallimus twice over the course of the war and destroyed his pod once.  Given that the Cerberus is quite an expensive ship I think the war cost him a lot more ISK than it cost us ^_^

CONCORD no longer offer missions

May 29, 2009 in Uncategorized by StarScream Xion

Generally I tend to run missions for the Caldari Navy, much like many of the other capsuleers in the Citadel. Now I don’t really have a problem with the Caldari Navy or anything, but I fancied a change so I looked up a list of agents from, shall we say, a less than reputable source. This list featured agents from CONCORD and the idea of working for CONCORD appealed to me.

So I grabbed my cyclone and off I set. I was informed of a Level 2 agent 10 Jumps away from my home in Venilien in the solar system of Hatakani. Hatakani’s blue nebula was refreshing to see especially after all the red and pink nebulas in and around Venilien and I was looking forward to spending some time here.

So I approached the Ammar Station that looms above Hatakani VI, an interesting looking planet with a huge ring formation around it and requested permission to dock. Once docked I checked to see which agents were at the station, however the station was deserted.

Hatakani VI Station

It turns out CONCORD stopped offering missions some years ago, something to do with pirates running missions for them in order to build up their standing high enough to be able to fly safely through high sec.

So a bit of a wasted trip, but I did get to see part of Caldari space I had not seen before and it’s always fun to explore ^_^

About: Xion Limited

We are currently a small corporation but so far we like it that way.  I’m sure we will get called ‘carebears’ since at the moment most of our operations are in Empire space, but when we’re ready that will change.  For the moment though mining and mission running are our bread and butter with some plans to move into production.
